LAHORE: Arifa Karim Randhawa, the child tech prodigy in critical condition, has shown some sign of life after she moved some of her fingers and her brain showed some activity, her Father Lt Col (Retd) Amjad Karim Randhawa told The Express Tribune on Friday.
Karim, who is still on life support, is still in a critical state and is being tended to the doctors, who had earlier lost hope of the child’s recovery.
Her father said that the family has received a flood of calls from all over the world inquiring after her health and praying for her recovery.
On December 22, Aarifa was admitted to Lahore’s CMH hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. On Thursday, doctors said there was no hope for her survival, and that her life support could be switched off ‘at any time’.
However, after this latest development, doctors and experts at Lahore’s Mayo hospital are working to save Arifa.
When Aarifa, now 16, was given the title of a Microsoft professional as a young child, she visited the company’s headquarters in the US. When she met Bill Gates himself, she had two questions: Why weren’t children allowed to work for Microsoft, and why such few women worked for the organisation.
Our sister Arifa Karim who stunned the world by becoming the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional and was received and awarded by Microsoft owner Bill Gates in 2005, is fighting for life at Combined Medical Hospital (Lahore) for the last seven days. She is in a state of comma and is on ventilator due to heart attack after an epileptic seizure.
Friends she Really need your prayers ... Please Please pray for her !! Share this message as much as you can.
LAHORE: The youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Aarifa Karim is hospitalised and in critical condition.Arfa Karim Randhawa is the youngest Microsoft certified professional and belongs to Pakistan and was certified at the age of “9″.
She is right now in the hospital and doctors are trying as much as they can to save her.
Arfa Karim was admitted to the hospital due to cardiac arrest (heart attack in general terms).
However, doctors have given up hope for the survival for the young genius and machines can be turned off soon.
Any how, we might still have some time to pray for her health and life, and if not, then her life after death and for her forgiveness.
She was an asset not only to her family and Pakistan, but also to the world.
P.S media coverage isn’t allowed by the family right now, that’s why you won’t find updates on media probably.
Families of several innocent Pakistani prisoners demanded the immediate release of their dear ones rotting in Saudi jails. Speaking in a press conference, the relatives of Saleem Khan of Manyar, Riaz of Parrai, Noor Khan of Amlook Dara and Sultan Zeb of Gwaratai Swat said that their dear ones have been rotting in Saudi jails for the last 10 years for sins unknown. According to the relatives, these individuals who are now rotting in the Saudi jails were ordinary laborers who were engaged in menial work like loading and unloading. From a chowk in Riyadh one Pakistani Ghani of Batkhela hired them for loading his truck, in the meantime, the Saudi police raided and arrested all the four including Ghani on discovering narcotics with Ghani. Although, Ghani was beheaded three months later after the arrest, whereas, the innocent laborers were sent to jails with penalties of 3.9 Million Saudi Riyals. The laborers belong to poor families and were in Saudi working on daily wages who are unequal to arrange for such exorbitant amount of money in order to be able to buy their release. Their families too are paupers and find it hard to make the two ends meet let alone arrangements of such huge amount of money. The families have implored the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Foreign Minister and The Chief Minister of KPK to have sympathy and materialize their release through compassionate basis and through furthering negotiations with the government of Saudi Arabia.

For more details click here Muhammad Ali Jinnah محمد علی جناح, (December 25, 1876 – September 11, 1948) was a Muslim lawyer, politician, statesman and the founder of Pakistan. He is popularly and officially known in Pakistan as Quaid-e-Azam (قائد اعظم — "Great Leader") and Baba-e-Qaum (بابائے قوم) ("Father of the Nation").
Jinnah served as leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan's independence on August 14, 1947, and as Pakistan's first Governor-General from August 15, 1947 until his death on September 11, 1948. Jinnah rose to prominence in the Indian National Congress initially expounding ideas of Hindu-Muslim unity and helping shape the 1916 Lucknow Pact between the Muslim League and the Indian National Congress; he also became a key leader in the All India Home Rule League. He proposed a fourteen-point constitutional reform plan to safeguard the political rights of Muslims in a self-governing India.
Jinnah later advocated the two-nation theory embracing the goal of creating a separate Muslim state as per the Lahore Resolution. The League won most reserved Muslim seats in the elections of 1946. After the British and Congress backed out of the Cabinet Mission Plan Jinnah called for a Direct Action Day to achieve the formation of Pakistan. This direct action by the Muslim League and its Volunteer Corps resulted in massive rioting in Calcutta between Muslims and Hindus. As the Indian National Congress and Muslim League failed to reach a power sharing formula for united India, it prompted both the parties and the British to agree to the independence of Pakistan and India. As the first Governor-General of Pakistan, Jinnah led efforts to lay the foundations of the new state of Pakistan, frame national policies and rehabilitate millions of Muslim refugees who had migrated from India. Jinnah also assumed the role and title of 'Protector General of the Hindu Minority' during Hindu-Muslim riots after 1947.Jinnah died aged 71 in September 1948, just over a year after Pakistan gained independence from the British Empire. After his death, Jinnah left a deep and respected legacy in Pakistan, and according to Stanley Wolpert, Jinnah remained Pakistan's greatest leader since the establishment of Pakistan in 1947.
The Leader It has to be remembered that it was not only Jinnah's superb political strategy that eclipsed his Muslim opponents but, thirteen years before the birth of Pakistan, the realization dawned on the Muslim masses that Jinnah and Jinnah alone could lead them. politician who successfully campaigned for an independent Pakistan and became its first leader. He is known there as 'Quaid-e-Azam' or 'Great Leader'.

No struggle can ever succeed without women participating side by side with men. There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. You may belong to any religion, caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the state... in due course of time Hindus will cease to be Hindus and Muslims will cease to Muslims- not in a religious sense for that is the personal faith of an individual- but in a political sense as citizens of one state” Address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan, Karachi August 11, 1947

Quotes about Jinnah Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three. (Prof. Stanley Wolpert, Jinnah of Pakistan (1984).
Gandhi died by the hands of an assassin; Jinnah died by his devotion to Pakistan. (Lord Pethick Lawrence,My Brother(1987),biography by Fatima Jinnah.)
Mr Jinnah, was great as a lawyer, once great as a Congressman, great as a leader of Muslims, great as a world politician and diplomat, and greatest of all as a man of action, By Mr. Jinnah's passing away, the world has lost one of the greatest statesmen and Pakistan its life-giver, philosopher and guide. (Surat Chandra Bose,My Brother(1987),biography by Fatima Jinnah.)
Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the greatest benefactor of Hindus in modern times, if he was not a Hindu in disguise. (Girilal Jain, The Hindu Phenomenon.)
Jinnah is one of the most extraordinary men in history. (Jawaharlal Nehru, first prime minister of India)
Although without Ghandi, Hindustan would still have gained independence and without Lenin and Mao, Russia and China would still have endured Communist revolution, without Jinnah there would have been no Pakistan in 1947. (John Biggs-Davison)
Jinnah contributed more than any other man to Pakistan's survivial. (Richard Symons)
The greatest man he ever met. (The Aga Khan)
The most important man in Asia. (Beverley Nichols, the author of `Verdict on India')
An outstanding figure of this century not only in India, but in the whole world. (Dr. Kailashnath Katju, the West Bengal Governor in 1948)
One of the greatest leaders in the Muslim world. (Abdul Rahman Azzam Pasha, Secretary General of the Arab League)
The Grand Mufti of Palestine considered his death as a "great loss" to the entire world of Islam. He set a great example to other statesmen to follow by his skill in negotiation, his integrity and his honesty. (Gordon Johnson, Director Center of South Asian Studies)
Though Jinnah’s scheme of partition was good, it would take at least 25 years to take shape. But great wars and great men shorten history, and Jinnah was such a man who could alter the history of a nation. (Lord Lothian)
Lord Mountbatten had enormous confidence in his persuasive powers. But as far as Jinnah was concerned, he felt that though he tried every trick, he could not shake Jinnah’s resolve to have partition. Mountbatten said that Jinnah had a " consuming determination to realize the dream of Pakistan." And he remained focused on that till his death. Muslim India was beset by socio-economic frustration. At such a time Jinnah guided a virtually rudderless Muslim League. Aziz refers to Jinnah as the greatest Muslim leader of the 20th century who was able to turn a dream state of Pakistan into a reality. (Quttabuddin Aziz)
[He was] the originator of the dream that became Pakistan, architect of the State and father of the world's largest Muslim nation. Mr. Jinnah was the recipient of a devotion and loyalty seldom accord to any man. (Harry S Truman, US President)
Ali Jinnah is a constant source of inspiration for all those who are fighting against racial or group discrimination.' (Nelson Mandela had come to Islamabad in 1995 and had insisted on including Karachi as a destination to visit Jinnah's Grave and his house in Karachi where upon reaching he drove straight to the Quaid's Mazar) At another occasion while addressing the ANC Mandela mentioned three names Ali Jinnah, Gandhi and Nehru as sources of inspiration for the movement against apartheid.' (Nelson Mandela, Ex-South African President)
a sincerity of purpose and the lasting charm of a character animated by a brave conception of duty and an austere and lovely code of private honour and public integrity... Tall and stately, but thin to the point of emaciation, languid and luxurious of habit, Mohammad Ali Jinnah's attenuated form is a deceptive sheath of a spirit of exceptional vitality and endurance. Somewhat formal and fastidious, and a little aloof and imperious of manner, the calm hauteur of his accustomed reserve but masks, for those who know him, a naive and eager humanity, an intuition quick and tender as a woman's, a humour gay and winning as a child's. Pre-eminently rational and practical, discreet and dispassionate in his estimate and acceptance of life, the obvious sanity and serenity of his worldly wisdom effectually disguise a shy and splendid idealism which is of the very essence of the man. (Sarojini Naidu, Advocate of Hindu Muslim Unity)
'Jinnah is Incorruptible and Brave' (Gandhi - Interview with Louis Fischer) The old Advocate of Unity, Mr. M.A.Jinnah, ... was advanced than his colleagues, and stood head and shoulders above them. (Nehru - Paraphrased: Quoted from his book freedom at midnight)
All religions hold that God sends suitable people into the world to work out his plans from time to time and at critical junctures. I regard Mr Jinnah as the man who has been called upon to correct the wrong ways in which the people of India have been led by the leadership of Mr Gandhi. Congress took a wrong turn when it adopted wholesale the non cooperation programme of Mr Gandhi and assumed an attitude of open hostility towards Britain and tried to infusew the minds of people a spirit of defiance of law and civil disobedience more of less thinly veiled under a formula of truth and non violence. Moreover by Mahatmafying Mr Gandhi it appealed to the idolatorous sperstition of the Hindus, thus converting the religious adherence of the Hindu section of the population to the Mahatma into political support of his non cooperation movement. While this strategy was of some avail in hustling the British Government to yield more and more it divided the people into Hindu and non hind! u sectionsIn these circumstances a man was needed to stand up to congress and tell its leaders that their organization however powerful numerically and financially doesnot represent the whole of India. I admire Mr Jinnah and feel grateful to him because in advocating the cause of the Muslims he is championing the cause of all the classes that are in danger of bein crushed under the steam roller of the caste Hindu majority, acting under the inspiration and orders of Mr Gandhi " [Leader of the scheduled Castes (M.C.Rajah) - 25th December 1940, 9 months After the Pakistan Resolution, Seen here are Scheduled castes of India]
(I am) A committed friend who will stand with the people of Pakistan as long as you seek the stable, prosperous, democratic nation of your founder's dreams. More than half a century ago, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, shared that vision as he addressed Pakistan's constituent assembly. "If you work together", he said, "in a spirit that everyone of you is first, second and last a citizen with equal rights, privileges, and obligations, there will be no end to the progress you will make." Pakistan can have a future worthy of the dreams of the Quaid-e-Azam. If you choose that future, the United States will walk with you. I hope you will make that choice. And I pray for our continued friendship, for peace, for Pakistan. Pakistan Zindabad. (Bill Clinton, US President)
A most accomplished lawyer, outstanding amongst Indian lawyers, and a fine constitutionalist. (Sir Stafford Cripps)
There is no man or woman living who imputes anything against his honour or his honesty. He was the most upright person that I know, but throughout it all, he never, as far as I know, for one moment, attempted to deceive any body, as to what he was aiming at or as to the means he attempted to adopt to get it. (Sir Patrick Spen, the last Chief Justice of undivided India)
Jinnah was a pure artist in the manner and method of his presentation. Even the most complex facts became simple and obvious when he waved his wand over them. He could be ferociously aggressive and almost boyishly persuasive as and when the occasion arose, and what particularly helped him in his advocacy, was the absolute clear head that he possessed, and on which he justly prided himself. He had common sense, that most uncommon of qualities in an uncommon degree. (Mr. M.C Chagla, who rose to be the Chief Justice of the High Court of Bombay and later became the Foreign Minister of India)
Watch him in the court room as he argues a case. Few lawyers command a more attentive audience. No man is more adroit in presenting his case. If to achieve the maximum result with minimum effort is the hallmark of artistry, Mr. Jinnah is an artist in his craft. He likes to get down to the bare bones of a brief. In stating the essentials of a case, his manner is masterly. The drab courtroom acquires an atmosphere as he speaks. Juniors crane their necks forward to follow every movement of his tall, well groomed figure; senior counsels listen closely; the judge is all attention. (Mr. Frank Moraes, Chief Editor of The Indian Express)
Never was there a nature whose other qualities provided so complete an anti-thesis of its inner worth. Tall and stately, but thin to the point of emaciation, languid and luxurious of habit, Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s attenuated form is the deceptive sheath of a spirit of exceptional vitality and endurance. (Mrs. Sarojini Naidu)
He has true stuff in him and that freedom from all sectarian prejudice which will make him the best ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity. (Gokhale)
His admirable skill and tact in piloting through such an intricate and controversial measure - the first instance of a Bill passing into legislation on the motion of a private member - won him not only the appreciation of his colleagues, but also his first meed of his general recognition from his co-religionists all over India. (Mrs. Sarojini Naidu - On the Wakf Validating Bill moved by Jinnah in 1913)
Jinnah, young, perfectly mannered, impressive looking, armed to the teeth with dialectics and insistent upon the whole of his scheme --- he would rather have nothing if he could not get the whole lot. ---Chelmsford tried to argue with him and was tied up into knots. Jinnah is a very clever man, and it is of course an outrage that such a man should have no chance of running the affairs of his own country. (Secretary of State Montagu - 1918)
Mr. Jinnah was one of the handsomest men I have ever seen; he combined the clear cut, almost Grecian features of the West with oriental grace and movement. (Lord Wavell, Viceroy of India 1943 - 1947)
Don 2More Pics Director: Farhan Akhtar Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani
Story: Don ( Shah Rukh Khan) is back, with characteristic savior faire. This time he has a monumental heist plan where he wants to steal the currency plates of the Euro from a high security vault in Berlin and disappear into the horizon as a free bird. Does he succeed? Specially when there is hot cop Roma ( Priyanka Chopra) doggedly chasing him..
Movie Review: Don 2 is a classic action/crime thriller that doesn't let go, even for a moment. More importantly, the plot has been finely crafted, with every twist and turn falling into place like a complicated albeit neat little jigsaw. With a canvas that goes on a cross-country ride -- Thailand, Malaysia, Zurich, Berlin -- the film challenges you to hop aboard its high speed scuttle and attentively follow the exploits of its glamorous gangster. One who oscillates between two avatars -- Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible) and James Bond -- without losing out on his desi charisma.
The high point of the film is Shah Rukh's delineation of the character of the Don. The actor interprets him as an arrogant, agile, wicked and wild dare-devil who has the most bizarre schemes up his sleeves. But that's not all. He also has the chutzpah to carry them through. Taking off from the climax of the first film, the gangster resurfaces in Thailand after a suitable time span, creates mayhem and then, in an unprecedented and inexplicable move, surrenders before his old enemies (cop Roma), only to be sent to a Malaysian prison. Get ready for a breath taking prison-break sequence, where our maverick escapes with another old foe, Vardhan ( Boman Irani). The rest of the film is essentially the execution of a meticulous plan where the duo chooses to rob the Germans of their currency plates. Easier said than done, but with the devious Don, rest assured, no mission is an impossible mission. Shah Rukh remains in command and never loses his foothold, neither through the dramatic sequences nor through the action cuts. But of course, didn't we know the actor always loved playing wicked despite his romantic hero image. Remember Darr and Baazigar, two of his unforgettable films?
Action is the other alluring selling point of Farhan Akhtar's film. The chases, the fights, the demolition, destruction, break-ins, escapes have all been done with a finesse that rivals the best of Hollywood. Watch the car chase between Priyanka and Shah Rukh and you'll get the point. It's not only high voltage that drips with passion which makes it seem almost like foreplay. The other notable sequences include the heist, the escape and Shah Rukh's larger-than-life leap from a high-rise while his assassin wrings his hands in dismay.
The film does lack a bit on the emotional quotient and human relationships are hardly given a chance to grow. But just when you think it's all sound and fury, there's a sensuous tango between Roma and the Don as the cop opts to help the gangster she once loved and the gangster is determined to save his junglee billi (wild cat), any which way. A word about the dialogues: brilliant. A word about the music: mediocre (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy). Courtesy Times of India

Sometimes, life just tends to throw us into situations where we don’t have any choice but to go with the flow. All we can do is keep our heads above the water. Sometimes, this is a blessing. Sometimes, a curse. I’ve gone through a fair share of such occassions, but that’s not all.
Opportunities
On very rare occassions, life tends to pull us out of such situations as well. And when it does, it throws a flurry of opportunities at you. What do I do at such times? I try to grab and hold as many as I can because you never know if or when life may give you another chance.
What would you do?
I leave you to ponder this thought with a tune that has almost always been a source of inspiration and reflection for me.
Yiruma’s River Flows In You

1. whn a gal says she's sad, but she isn't crying, it means she's crying in her heart.
2. whn she ignores u after u've done something wrong, it's best to giv her some time to cool down before touching her heart with an apology.
3. a gal cn't find anything to hate abt the guy she loves (which is why it is so hard for her to 'get over him' after the relationship' s over.) 4. if a gal loves a guy, he will always be on her mind evry minute of the day, evn though she flirts with othr guys. 5. whn the guy she likes smiles n stares deep into her eyes, she will melt. 6. a gal likes to hear compliments, but usually not sure how to react to thm. 7. whn a particular guy flirts with a girl vry often, a girl wud start thinking the guy likes her, so if u treat a girl jst as a friend, go easy on the smiles n stare ok? 8. if u don't like a gal who likes u, break it to her gently. 9. if a gal starts avoiding u aftr u reject her, leave her alone for a while, if u still treat her as a friend, talk to her. 10. gals enjoy talking abt what thy feel, music, poetry, drawings n writing r ways of expressing themselves (which explains why most gals like writing journals). 11. nvr tell a gal that she is useless in anyway. 12. being too serious can turn a gal off. 13. whn the guy she likes calls her for the 1st time, the girl may act uninterested during the call, but as soon as the phn is back on the hook, she will whoop with joy n immediately start telephoning her friends to spread the news. 14. a smile means a lot to a gal. 15. if u like a girl, try making friends with her 1st, let her get to know u. 16. if a gal says she cn't go out with u b'coz she has to study, leave. 17. but if she still calls u or expect a call frm u, stay. 18. don't try to guess a gal's feelings....ask her..... 19. hearing the words "i love you" is a great reassurance to a gal that she is beautiful. 20. after a gal falls in love with a guy, she'll wonder why she nvr noticed him before. 21. if u need tips on how to flirt with a gal, read romance stories =P 22. whn class pictures come out, a girl wud 1st check who is standing nxt to her crush before actually looking at herself. 23. a gal's ex-crush will always be in her memory, but the guy she loves now stays in her heart. 24. gals love having fun! 25. a simple 'Hiii' can brighten a gal's day. 26. a gal's bst friends usually know bst what she is feeling n going through. 27. gals hate it whn a guy pays attention to thm jst to get close to their 'prettier' friend. 28. love means devotion, caring n happiness to a girl, in that order. 29. some gals care abt looks, some care abt brains, but all gals wnt a guy who will love n care for thm. 30. gals wnt nothing more thn to feel loved.
