Back-sleeping also helps prevent wrinkles, because nothing is pushing against your face, notes Dee Anna Glaser, M.D., a professor of dermatology at Saint Louis University. And the weight of your breasts is fully supported, reducing sagginess.
Consider this: "Snoring is usually most frequent and severe when sleeping on the back," Olson says.

Now for the downside: "Sleeping on your side can cause you to get wrinkles," Glaser says. Blame all that smushing of one side of your face into the pillow. This pose also contributes to breast sag, since your girls are dangling downward, stretching the ligaments, says Health magazine's Medical Editor Roshini Rajapaksa, M.D.
Consider this: If you're pregnant, sleep on your left side. It's ideal for blood flow.

"This curved position also restricts diaphragmatic breathing," adds Dody Chang, a licensed acupuncturist with the Center for Integrative Medicine at Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut. And if you make this your nightly pose, you may bring on premature facial wrinkles and breast sag.
Consider this: Just straighten out a bit -- try not to tuck your body into an extreme curl.

The scoop: "Stomach-sleeping makes it difficult to maintain a neutral position with your spine," Shannon explains. What's more, the pose puts pressure on joints and muscles, which can irritate nerves and lead to pain, numbness, and tingling.
"Think about the soreness you'd feel if you kept your neck turned to one side for 15 minutes during the day," Diamant explains. In this position you have your head to one side for hours at a time. You won't necessarily feel it the next day, but you may soon start to ache.
Consider this: Do you snore? "Stomach-sleeping may even be good for you," Olson says. Facedown keeps your upper airways more open. So if you snore and aren't suffering from neck or back pain, it's fine to try sleeping on your belly.

Rickshaw drivers in Lahore protest
LAHORE: Rickshaw drivers in Lahore protest against the chalan of traffic wardens and many of them mounted on a high tension electric tower.
Rickshaw Drivers continued to protest in Babusabu interchange, Lahore.
According to the sources, The driver had first arrived in the area and informed people that he had been fined three times in the last three days, adding that he could no longer afford to pay the fines. Today the police had impounded his motorcycle-rickshaw.
In protest, the driver climbed to the top of the tower with copies of the challan in his hand.
After the spread of news many other rickshaw drivers joined the protest while Police baton-charge to disperse them while Several people were injured during the clashes.

New recruitment firms set to start operations
The 13 recruitment companies that were given preliminary licenses will commence operations soon and will rent foreign workers and maids to interested Saudi and foreign clients at monthly payments ranging between SR1,000 and SR1,200, local daily Al-Madinah reported yesterday. It was quoting an official source at the Labor Ministry.
The source, however, said the monthly salaries would be fixed according to the theory of supply and the cost of recruitment.
"The companies will enable citizens and expatriates to hire foreign manpower with various professions except the specialized jobs, such as doctors and engineers, without incurring any additional costs like the Iqama and visa fees," he said.
The source explained the companies would be committed to provide suitable and safe accommodation for the foreign manpower under their sponsorship.
He said any of the recruitment companies should consist of at least five recruitment offices and added that each company would be given 1,000 work visas for each of its offices.
"The establishment of the companies was aimed at organizing the import of qualified manpower and to provide professional services," he said.
Meanwhile, director of information and public relations Hattab bin Saleh Al-Anzi, who is the ministry's official spokesman, said the ministry would hold workshops and meetings with representatives of the companies and the National Recruitment Committee of the Saudi Council of Chambers to discuss problems facing the establishment of the companies and other issues, including provision of accommodation for foreign manpower.
He said the paid-up capital of each company wishing to import workers and housemaids should not be less than SR50 million, while that of companies wishing to recruit foreign manpower for the public sector should not be less than SR100 million.
The spokesman explained that the companies, covering various regions of the Kingdom, should commence activities a year after obtaining the final licenses.

Human resource experts said expatriates would benefit from the ministry’s move. Sharief Hussein Al-Hubaili, an HR expert, said it would enable companies to know whether they are in the red, yellow, green or premium categories according to the Nitaqat system, which measures an organization's compliance with Saudization targets.
“The new service avoids the possibility of incorrect assumptions about a company’s situation or having to go to the ministry or labor office,” he explained.
“It will also protect foreign workers from falling victim to unscrupulous liaison officers who exploit the situation by trying to con them,” he added.
Expatriates will be able to understand their companies’ Nitaqat status by sending an SMS containing the characters 44* followed by the iqama number to STC No. 888996, Mobily 626666, or Zain 709446. They can also obtain the same information from the ministry’s website: www.mol.gov.sa.
